Newlands Primary School will not be accepting out of zone student applications for 2025. The only out of zone applications being considered are for those children who already have a sibling attending NPS. We are accepting a limited number of new entrant out of zone applications for 2026.

Out of Zone Enrolments for 2026

New entrant out of zone enrolment applications are now being accepted for Term 3 in 2026. The school board has approved up to five (5) places for out of zone students. The deadline for out of zone enrolments for the period 20 July - 25 September 2026 is 9:00am on Friday 27 March 2026. If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot for out of zone students is required, this will be held on Tuesday 31 March 2026. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held. Please contact the school office for more information (admin@newlandsprimary.school.nz)

Enrolments

Newlands Primary School is a state contributing school which welcomes enrolments from new entrants to Year 6 children.  

We operate an enrolment scheme, which means that some parts of Newlands are not in zone for our school.
