Our staff have been working hard over the last few weeks to get our kura ready to welcome students back on Monday 03 February, at the usual time of 8:55am. We hope to see many smiling and happy faces at school drop off - tamariki and whānau alike! Below are some key date reminders.

Uniform Shop at the Office

If you wish to purchase uniform items before school starts, you are welcome to call into the school office on the following day/times:

Thursday 30 January - 9:00am to 12:00pm

Friday 31 January - 9:00am to 1:30pm

Transition to School Afternoon

Classrooms will be open on Friday 31 January between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. We invite you to call in for an informal visit for students to see their new classroom and say hello to their teacher before they start on Monday. Students are not required to wear uniform.

Stationery

Stationery needs to be ordered online, and you can find order details on our website here. Once you receive your stationery pack to home, please deliver it directly to your child’s classroom.

Stationery is ordered by team name as follows:

Te Kākano Pack - Toetoe, Miro, Kahikatea, Kawakawa, and Horopito classrooms

Te Pihi Pack - Rātā, Pōhutukawa, Tawa, Mānuka, and Kānuka classrooms

Te Kōhuri Team - Rimu, Nīkau, Karaka, and Kōwhai classrooms

New Entrant Pack - for those 5 year olds who have not attended NPS before

School Closures Week 1

Please note that school will be closed to students on the following days of week 1:

Thursday 06 February - Waitangi Day Public Holiday

Friday 07 February - Curriculum Staff Only Day (mathematics PLD new MOE guidelines)

School Picnic and EOTC Activities

We are holding our annual school picnic at Waikanae Pool on Friday 14 March. Students will be transported by bus to and from Waikanae Pool to enjoy this EOTC event (education outside the classroom). Whānau are welcome to meet us at the pool between 10:30am and 1:30pm to join in the fun! Am email will be sent soon with all EOTC.

General Communications

Our main form of communication with whānau is via our school newsletter which is emailed to home every Thursday, along with being placed on the school website here. We will send our first newsletter early - on Wednesday 05 February.
