Dear Parents & Caregivers

Due to the poor weather forecast for tomorrow we have made the decision to postpone Athletics day until next week.  Athletics day is now planned for Wednesday 14 March starting at 9:15am.

The programme of events which was advertised in the newsletter last week will be the same next week.  A copy of this is also available on the school website.

We have made this decision early so that parents and other supporters who were going to take leave from work in order to attend, have plenty of advance notice of the change.

The refreshments stall will still go ahead next Wednesday.  For those who have offered to bake for this, you are welcome to bring any baking you might already have done into school tomorrow, and we will freeze it so that it can be used next week.

At Newlands School our Whakatauki is important to us.

Te Rito o te Harakeke:
Hutia te rito o te harakeke.
Kei hea te Komako e ko.
Ki mai ki ahau.
He aha te mea nui o te ao.
Maku e ki atu.
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.

The rito represents the young learner who is: supported by family and whanau and school, the new learning community.  At Newlands School we support all learners so they grow tall and strong and ready to be successful creative learners for the rest of their lives.
